Occasion: Dear’s Birthday
I have a few wonderful surprises lined up for her……
1030hrs:
It started out as a normal day. I had asked Dear to take leave to go Sentosa for picnic.
My preparations:
- A bottle of champagne
- Her clothes and heels
- Her makeup
- Light sticks
- Last but not least, my proposal ring
The items were carefully hidden in my backpack the previous day in case she went through the stuffs inside.
Our picnic menu:
- Beehoon
- Fried Ngo Hiong (Dear fried until a bit characoaled.. haha)
- Fried chicken popcorn
- Sausages
- Ham & Cheese sandwich
- Drinks
1300hrs:
After having some trouble syncing up my mp3s into my iPhone, we are ready to go. Goodness, my backpack is heavy with all the hidden items inside. Lucky Dear did not suspect the weight and we can still fit on my Honda Wave with the backpack.
1400hrs:
Bought our tickets for tonight Song of the Sea performace and finally reached Siloso beach. We are already farmished and can’t wait to start feasting our food….
Its a peaceful weekday afternoon… How we wish this can continue without having to worry about our work stuffs…
1600hrs:
The evening sun is approaching. I suggested looking for another place that is more shady. The “another place” is actually a room which I had booked secretly at Siloso Beach Resort. I brought her into the resort to take a look around the place. Frankly speaking, the resort is quite impressive and beautiful. Well hidden in the resort, is a small garden with a waterfall swimming pool. We went to the reception and its when I confess I had already reserved a room. Dear thought I was joking until I present our reservation letter to the receptionist.
Our room is beautiful. Its a Rooftop Garden Suit with a balcony and outdoor jacuzzi on the 2nd floor. Dear is still overwhelmed with joy when we reached our room…
1830hrs:
Its time to kick start the night programme. Song Of The Sea performance was at 1940hrs.
The show was 25 minutes. After that we proceed to Barnacles Restaurant which I had already booked without her knowing. I ordered a Grilled Seafood Platter comprising of lobster, tiger prawn, scallop, fried oyster & fish fillet and an Ostrick Steak. The food was good and we enjoyed it. Towards the end, its a surprise birthday cake for my Dear.
2300hrs:
Its a nice stroll back to our hotel. The night is quiet and we can enjoy the night ambience of Sentosa as we walked back. Back in the hotel balcony, I brought out my light sticks and we played with the camera.
And that was when I tried to proposed to her by scribbling out the words in midair….. First attempt, fail. She cannot make out the words…. ;(
I ran down to get my mini torchlight which I had used during my rehearsal a few days ago…. Shes stunned and burst out laughing in tears after my words appeared when the shutter closes after 40secs.
And finally I can bring out my champagane…
Mission Accomplished!
Dear, I am glad that you had enjoyed yourself with all the surprises. But too bad no roses cos I want to save that killer move for another time. You will like the diamond that I had chosen exclusively and specially flown from the States for you.
